Work — Lola Bares
Retrato de Adelina Flores
Portrait of Adelina FlowersThe portraits of Adelina Flowers are inspired by the story “Sombras sobre vidrio esmerilado” by Argentine writer Juan José Saer, which portrays and personifies the poet Adelina Flores. The story is filled with nostalgia, desire and loneliness, and the work explores these sensations.
Criar demonios
Raise demonsThe search in criar demonios was primarily material. By exploring different formats and supports, the choice of nylon-rubber allowed me to give the piece both a front and a back. The front represents the finished work, while the back reveals the initial strokes — something like “the process of the work”.
Delirios de un Rey-toro
Delirious bull-kingInk illustrations inspired by the story “La casa de Asterión” by J. L. Borges. The Greek Minotaur and the labyrinth, his home.
Porno-collages
This series of small-format works was made from magazines, catalogues and paper cuts of all kinds. Thoughts about love and passion.
